Typical app · playback rate
240.3cm
1.40 s of playback time
Half-speed file read as real time
✕Vertical jump, frame-exact
Film a jump in slow motion. Hops reads the true capture fps from the file, you flag the frame your feet leave and the frame they land, and the airtime turns into your jump height. On your phone, with no account.
Why another jump app
Phones save slow motion stretched for playback. Count frames at the playback rate and a normal jump turns into a superhero one. Hops checks the real capture rate first and shows you where every number came from.

Try it right here
This is the Flight Strip. Each cell is a slow-motion frame. Drag the blue flag to the last frame on the ground and the orange flag to the first frame back down, or use the arrow buttons.
Over 1.0 s of airtime is impossible. Hops would block this and ask for the real fps.
Each cell here skips 8 frames. In the app you step one frame at a time.
Three steps
Record in the app at up to 240 fps, or open a slow-motion clip from your gallery. Hops reads the capture fps from the file itself.
Scrub the Flight Strip and drop two flags. The airtime bar between them shows exactly which frames count.
Height = g·t²/8, shown with the frames and fps it came from. Save it, compare it, share it.
Inside Hops
Frames laid out like film. Two flags, one airtime bar, frame-by-frame nudges.
Reads 120/240 fps from metadata, warns about playback-stretched files, lets you correct fps any time.
Countermovement, approach and squat jumps kept apart. 3–5 jump sessions with best, average and consistency.
Standing reach plus your best jump against a 305 cm rim, men’s 243 cm and women’s 224 cm volleyball nets.
Trend by date, 4-week moving average, personal-best line and a share card when you beat it.
Home widget, weekly reminder, CSV export, cm or inch — never mixed.
Reach Gap
Add your standing reach once. Hops stacks your best jump on top and shows the gap to the rim, the net, or your own block and spike targets.
Progress
Each session’s best, a 4-week moving average and your personal-best line. Beat it and Hops makes a card worth sharing.
Frame extraction and every calculation run on the device. Hops never uploads your clips.

FAQ
The flight-time method assumes you land with straight legs. Land like that and film at 120 fps or more, and the error is typically around ±1 cm. Landing with bent knees makes any flight-time app read high.
No. Your phone’s slow-motion camera is enough. A friend holding the phone, or a phone propped on a bag, works fine.
At 30 or 60 fps each frame is 17–33 ms, so the result is coarse. Hops tells you the fps it found so you know how much to trust the number.
It probably counted frames at the stretched playback rate. Hops reads the capture rate and refuses to save airtime over 1.0 s.
No. Hops has no server and no account. Everything happens on your phone.
No. Measuring is free. The extras are a single lifetime purchase.
